Why September for me is the best time of year ...
I felt it the last weekend of August. That tingle. The touch of chill in the air on an otherwise warm day like Jack Frost is reaching out and touching the back of my neck saying "I'm on my way".
This time of year always feels full of hope, of anticipation, of dreams yet to be fulfilled lingering on the touch of frost in the breeze. It's the time of year to make a change, to consider what are the next steps I can take towards my ultimate dreams.
There is a clip in the film Chocolat where Vianne stands on the small wooden deck over the river and closes her eyes feeling the change in the wind. That is the feeling for me. It reminds me that whatever has happened this year I can change it, it reminds me that there is always time, it reminds me there is always hope.
In a world full of angst and worry this is the time of year to take stock and recognise that whatever has happened we are still fortunate. It might not seem it some times, especially when in the pandemic we are all dealing with, but we still have a roof over our heads, food in our belly and can wake up each day and smell the change in the season.
This is the time of year for magic and wonder and for gratitude. It's the time of year for love and laughter, its the time of year for forgiveness, it's the time of year to learn and be curious.
This year I'm committing to making large steps towards my dreams, I'm preparing now to have an even more wonderful 2021 than 2020, because for me even with this pandemic 2020 feels like a year of blessings and turning points.
I'll be doing some of my witchy rituals to let go of the things I don't need, to free myself from my own inner doubts and inner burdens, to open myself to more love, to more life, to more learning. To just be me.
I'm looking forward to long evenings curled up reading or listening to audiobooks, to make those little changes and those little steps to become a better me and with it, help more people to grow, to rest, to love and to laugh.
It's time to reconnect, it's a time to be curious, it's a time to take another step on my journey to a destination that I know, yet don't know, that feels exciting and both scary at the same time.
It's time to be me.
Love and light
